Gina

Hi there, I'm Gina.

This blog serves many purposes for me -- sharing new writing & works in progress, keeping in touch with old friends, making new friends, and keeping an eye on what's happening on the interwebs. But mostly? It's where I blow off steam from graduate school and talk about which David Bowie song is the queerest. ;)

If you wanna know more about me, check out my website for info about the work that I do in the world.

If you're here because you're a fan of my writing, I recommend checking out How To Have A Body for a peek at my current manuscript in progress.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. Enjoy your stay.

  • scott's tumblr: Notes from an Occupation 17: Dolores Park "Ruckus"

It is highly likely that the April 30th Dolores Park march debacle was the work of Agent Provocateurs. I can’t say I’m all that surprised, as the folks I know who are involved in Decolonize SF & Decolonize Oakland would NEVER stand for the kinda bullshit that went down on Monday. Lots more here (and thank you to abellandapomegranate for the link & the smarts).

So I’m just going to quick talk about what happened tonight, 30 April, 2012, on the eve of the May Day 2012 General Strike. I don’t know everything yet, and I’m too busy getting ready for tomorrow to really sit down and do homework. You’re getting my on the ground observations and you’re getting…

Notes on the mess in the Mission last night, and the high probability that we’re looking at the work of agent provocateurs.  That said: anyone who thought it was a good idea to follow these guys in making a mess of a working-class POC neighborhood that’s already suffering under hardcore gentrification, in the name of fighting gentrification, go get schooled.  And by “get schooled” I mean volunteer with some local old folks, seriously.

“Solidarity forever” is not just a catchy phrase, y’all.
