Gina reads at LitCrawl Saturday night! Also, Sex...
Foxy folks! I’m reading at LitCrawl this Saturday night & I’d love to see you, sweet you, in the audience. It’s an erotic reading, but the work I’m reading is actually gonna be more “about sex” than “hot hot smut” per se (other readers will bring the smut, though, so fear not, smut-lovers). What I’ve been working on lately is a series of...

Rest In Peace, Jack Random.
Oh. Rest In Peace, Jack Random, you beautiful, glorious fucker. San Francisco will miss you very hard. Jack and I did not know each other well (we only ever had a few conversations; he interviewed me for his podcast, once). But I liked him tremendously, thought he was kind and funny and whipsmart and, yes, very hot. There is a poem of his in an old issue of Anything That Moves that still brings...

Sex Workers' Writing Workshop CANCELLED today, but...
Folks, Sex Workers’ Writing Workshop today is CANCELLED. My apologies! I am not quite as mended as I thought I’d be, and I realized this morning that trying to teach today after 2 weeks of upper respiratory infection was, uh, perhaps overzealous of me. See you on November 12th from 2-4pm at Center for Sex and Culture, though! We’ll write then. :)

things i have learned this week
I’m on Day 8 of an Upper Respiratory Infection (well, Day 8 of Sick, Day 6 of Intense Cough that I recently found out is an upper respiratory infection). Things I have learned: 1. Neti pots are a really good, weird idea. 2. A double-dose of codeine cough syrup does not make me sleepy (?), but it does calm the cough down & make me very, very silly. 3. I have the kind of community...

Principal Assaults Student For Wearing Shirt... →
This is disgusting, but sadly unsurprising to me. I’m so, so glad that this kid is fighting back.

Melissa Gira Grant: Turning my ambivalence into... →
melissa: Like a lot of activists, I was skeptical of what was going on at Occupy Wall Street, but started showing up just to see what it was all about. And then ended up staying. And then ended up volunteering and committing to “un-guy” OWS. Which last night meant asserting a progressive stack at the …

ask the internets: hacking cough?
So, I guess this cough I have gets worse at night? I was tossing and turning and hacking pretty much all night; it was bad. I ended up taking codeine cough syrup AND NyQuil, together. The combo made me extremely woozy, but my sleep was still kinda rough. Like, I did finally fall asleep, but I’d wake up every hour or 2 coughing like crazy. I am trying to figure out how to make sure I...
